i hung out with 4 boys last night. they had very interesting stories to share over pizza and cola. i never knew there was such a thing as:

"the xavier rule"
the xavier rule states that no xavierian can make a move on any girl that a friend has already expressed an interest for, regardless of whether the friend is actually intending to court the girl, or if the girl likes the other guy instead. the other guy can only step in, with permission, if the friend courted and got busted. the rule is also nullified if the guy got a girl friend other than the girl in question.

"the ican rule"
according to these men, ICANs "don't assume". they "don't want to hurt you" so they simply disappear after the 8th date. emphasis on the EIGHTH. hahahahaha. when friends tell them of these kinds of encounters, the simple explanation is "ICAN kasi." their counter tactic is to profess early (i.e. "i like you - may chance ba ako?"). "ok lang ba manligaw?" also emerged as a defense mechanism so they are technically "not busted" because they were just asking if they can court - not YET courting.

i can neither affirm nor negate the validity of these claims, but i was cracking up because the scenarios definitely rang true for me. hahahahaha.
