Boy recit, Midterms, and the Yankees

Mitch recently told me that law students often deserve but never get breaks.

For about the past 3 (maybe more) weeks, i have been getting called for recitation way too many times, clearly the most in my class. Luckily, I have been able to foul off if not hit most of what's being thrown at me.. key word here is most. As such, despite a persons midterm tomorrow, i have declared a temporary restraining order with a writ of prohibition from opening my books or cases until the conclusion of tomorrow's game beween the yankees and the redsox. I need the down time to prevent a mental breakdown.. hehehe, I really need to talk to bro soon.

Anyway, It looks like a subway series is not a far off possibility this year.. imagine Game tied in the 9th, with Billy Wagner and Mariano Rivera squaring off in a pitcher's duel. but before any fearless forecasts for the month of october, a quick look at the present, ie the double header that happened earlier today. On paper, it was supposed to be a split, yankees would take the first game and the redsox were supposed to take the second game.. this however did not happen, after blowing a lead, the yankees trailed the redsox in the second game after Ponson, the number 6 starter (teams normally have just 5 starters, but due to a cancelled game and the lack of an off day, the yankees needed a 6th starter to keep their rotation on normal rest) blew the lead. Enter the extremely potent offense of the yankees. despite being hit by injuries to 2 of their heaviest bats (matsui and scheffield), the yankees offense remains one of, if not the srngest in the league. 7 runs in the 7th, and the game was practically sealed, especially with a closer named mariano rivera. There was a bit of drama though in the 7th when farnsworth came out with an injury, forcing Joe Torre to call on an overworked, but nonetheless effective Scott proctor, and a david ortiz HR off Rivera in the 9th, but in any case, the yankees came off with a very big come from behind win.

Go bombers!

(ok, back to menial oc clerical work)
